Why the rear axle matters
It is simple, light and compact, and that is why it stayed under the whole small range for decades. The bearings inside it are service items. A high mileage axle changes how the car behaves more than any spring you can fit, so before you buy suspension for a 106 or a 306, check the axle first.
What it shares with Citroen
The 106 and the Saxo are the same car underneath, and so are the 206 and the C2. If a bush position does not appear under Peugeot, look under Citroen. On the newer models the logic holds: the 208 and the C3 from the same period sit on the same base.
208 GTi and the recent range
The first generation 208 GTi sits on the old platform, and the post 2019 208 moves to a new one, with different geometry. The model name is the same, the parts are not. Check the year in the selector.
