What the label means
The label carries the standard and the homologation number. Check in the regulations of your competition which standard is required, because the series differ and a boot that is fine for a trackday may not be accepted in a licensed race.
The homologation covers the whole set
Homologated boots make sense as part of a system: suit, underwear, balaclava, gloves. If a single piece is missing or has no label, the rest does not make up for it.
The size
The sizes are Italian and tighter than you expect. Try them with a fireproof sock on, because that is what you wear in the car and it takes up space. The boot has to hold the foot firmly, without crushing the toes.
How to keep them
Keep them away from fuel, solvents and direct sunlight. Fireproof material degrades in contact with fuel, and a glued sole comes away if they sit in the heat of a boot all summer.
