Lights for rally and for night stages, plus the rear fog light required at scrutineering in many series. A powerful spotlight wired into the standard loom melts the wire: each one needs its own relay and fuse, fed straight from the battery. Their position and number are usually limited by the regulations.

Homologation

The standard usually required is FIA 8874-2019, and the lights that meet it say so on their page. A powerful red light without homologation does not pass scrutineering, however brightly it shines.

Where it mounts

The position is specified in the regulations: on the centreline or on the stated side, at a given height, visible from behind. Read the text before drilling, because moving it means another hole in the bodywork.

Spotlights

High power LED spotlights are for rally and for night stages. They mount on dedicated brackets, and their current draw needs cable of the right gauge and its own relay.
