How the ranges are split
- Street Comfort: moderate drop, calibrated towards comfort in traffic
- V1: height adjustment, damping fixed from the factory
- V2: height plus rebound adjustment
- V3: height, rebound and compression, set separately
- V4 and Clubsport: track kits, with compression split into low and high speed and with camber adjustable top mounts on the versions that carry them
- Springs: a drop on the original dampers, without changing the whole assembly
What the adjustments mean, on the road
Rebound controls how fast the damper extends after it has been compressed: how well the wheel stays on broken tarmac depends on it. Compression controls how firmly it resists being compressed, so how much the car settles under braking and in a corner. If you are not going to touch the settings on track, a kit with height adjustment gives you everything you need.
How low, and what you do afterwards
Every kit has a drop range set by the manufacturer. Below a certain ride height, the steering geometry and the suspension travel leave what KW designed for, and the alignment can no longer be brought into tolerance by adjustment. After fitting, have the alignment done on the rig.
Guide: KW V1, V2, V3 or V4, which adjustment you need: how many clicks each range has, what rebound and compression actually do, and which of them you really touch on a car driven every day.
