A tow strap exists so you can be pulled off the track in seconds, without anyone hunting for somewhere to hook on. It mounts at the point in the structure, it is visible and it is marked, usually with an arrow and lettering. The colour and the position are set by the regulations, so check yours first.

What is required

An FIA homologated strap is required at scrutineering in most competitions, and the point has to be marked with the arrow and the corresponding lettering. A strap without homologation may well hold, but at scrutineering that does not count.

Fitting

It mounts into the structure, not into a plastic bumper. It has to be reachable without tools and must not hang down on the move.
