The thicknesses in this collection
The most asked for are 20, 15 and 25 mm, followed by 30 mm and by the thin 3 and 5 mm versions. The thin ones go over the existing studs; from a certain thickness upwards the spacer has its own studs and bolts to the hub itself, with the wheel going onto it.
Thread and studs
M14x1.5 and M12x1.5 cover most applications, with M12x1.25 on Japanese cars. On thin spacers the original stud can end up too short: the practical rule is at least six turns of thread engaged in the nut. If that does not work out, you need longer studs.
What changes on the car
The wider track changes the behaviour and loads the bearing and the joints more than standard. Check that the tyre does not foul the arch under compression plus steering lock, not just with the car sitting straight.
