How to read a name
In "10.0 x 18 5x120 ET25": 10.0 is the width in inches, 18 is the diameter in inches, 5x120 is the PCD, meaning 5 holes on a 120 mm circle, and ET25 is the offset in millimetres. All four have to match the car, not just the PCD.
The offset decides whether it clears or rubs
The offset says how far the wheel sits in or out from the hub. A lower offset pushes the wheel outwards, which sits flush with the arch but can touch on lock or under compression. A higher one pulls it inwards, towards the damper and the caliper. A difference of a few millimetres really does show on the car.
Width and tyre
The width of the rim decides which tyres you can fit and how the contact patch sits on the tarmac. A tyre that is too narrow on a wide rim bulges on the shoulders, one that is too wide sits squeezed between them. Every width has a tyre range in which it works properly.
What else you need
Hub centric rings are chosen on the hub diameter of your car, otherwise the wheel centres on the studs and you get vibration at speed. The nuts have to have the seat shape the wheel needs: see wheel nuts and studs.
