Where the real gains are
With the rear fixed, almost everything that changes the behaviour is at the front: arm bushes, the anti-roll bar and the springs. That is also where the reputation for lifting a wheel in a corner comes from. It is not a fault. It is a consequence of the construction.
Braking, the first thing to give up on track
The car is light, but the standard brakes are sized for town. On a track day, the standard pad goes past its working temperature in a few laps and starts giving a soft pedal. A compound with a wider range fixes more than a bigger disc.
124 Spider, another car with the same name
The Abarth 124 Spider has nothing in common with the 595. It is rear driven, with double wishbones and a platform shared with the Mazda MX-5 ND, out of a collaboration between Fiat and Mazda. Look for parts under MX-5 ND too, not only in the rest of the Abarth range.
