What a lift asks for, beyond springs
Past a few centimetres, the list grows on its own. Adjustable arms to bring the caster back. An adjustable Panhard rod to recentre the axle. Brake line and cable extensions, and often headlight aim adjustment. A spring kit on its own leaves the car high and crooked.
The axle does not centre itself
On a live axle, the Panhard rod holds it centred sideways. Lift the car without adjusting it and the axle stays offset to one side. You can see it from behind, with the wheels straight.
Grand Cherokee, a different construction
The modern Grand Cherokee has independent suspension, not live axles. None of the above applies to it. Parts do not move between it and the Wrangler.
