Ferodo Racing Brake Pads

A Ferodo Racing pad is chosen on compound, not just on car. The DS2500 works from cold up to around 500 degrees, so it takes both road and trackday. The DSUNO works between 200 and 750 degrees, which means it needs heat in it and bites weakly on the first lap.

The compounds in this collection

The most asked for is the DS2500: it bites from cold, so it takes public roads, and it holds up at trackdays without destroying the disc. DS3000 and DS3.12 are competition pads, which need temperature to work and are not for driving around town. DS1.11 and DSUNO are the endurance and rally compounds, with high friction over a wide range.

By car or by caliper

Some references are made for the car model, others for the caliper you fitted in a conversion: Wilwood, Tarox, AP. If you have changed the calipers, search by caliper, not by car.

What else to know

Competition pads eat the disc faster and make more aggressive dust. After fitting, bed them in as the manufacturer says, otherwise the transfer layer does not lay down evenly and you get vibration. The brake fluid has to take the temperature too: with a competition compound, an ordinary DOT4 boils before the pad does.
