In a car with polycarbonate windows and no air conditioning, a roof scoop is the only serious source of cool air. It goes at the front, where the air is still under pressure, and it is sealed around the edge, otherwise water gets in. It needs a cutout in the roof, so it is a job with no way back.

Fibreglass or carbon

Fibreglass is cheaper and takes a knock better. Carbon is lighter and looks better, but it cracks rather than bending. The adjustable versions let you close the flow when it rains or when it is cold.
