The diameter

It is chosen exactly as the pipe is: 51 mm means 2 inches, 63 mm means 2.5, and 76 mm means 3. The measurement is taken with a caliper on the cut pipe, not estimated. One extra reducer in the system means one more weld and one more place it can blow.

Where it goes

The further from the engine, the better it cuts the low tones. The position is also chosen for the space under the car and for where you have clearance, because the box is larger in diameter than the pipe.

Stainless

A stainless body does not rust and lasts as long as the system. When welding, ask for stainless wire: with ordinary filler it rusts right in the weld.
