How to choose a karting helmet
A karting helmet has to sit firm on the head without pressing: a loose helmet does not protect properly.
Homologation and safety
For drivers under 15 the helmet must be homologated to Snell-FIA CMR (a helmet made for children, and lighter). For adults, helmets homologated under the FIA Karting regulations are accepted, FIA 8859 or Snell among them. Check the regulations of the series you race in.
How to measure
Measure your head circumference with a tape measure, about 2.5 cm above the eyebrows and over the ears, at the widest point.
