The reducer has five steps, from 48.5 mm up to 70.1 mm, and gets cut at the step that fits your pipe. One part covers four changes of diameter, so you do not need to know the exact size up front.

Where it goes
- On a custom line, when the pipe diameter is measured on the car and is not known up front.
- On repairs, where the old pipe has been cut and what is left is no longer the factory size.
- The part does not hold two pipes on its own: the joint is welded or clamped.
Fitting
- Cut it at the step you use and deburr the edge before fitting.
- Weld it, or clamp it when you want to be able to take the line apart later.
- Back-purge stainless with argon, otherwise the root of the weld goes porous.
