The chassis code, not the year

On a Honda the generations are identified by code: EG, EK, EP3, FN2, FK2, FK8, and the same commercial name covers cars that are completely different underneath. The older Civics run double wishbones front and rear, the post 2001 cars MacPherson at the front. The parts are not interchangeable. The filter works on the exact code for that reason; if you know it, search straight on it.

Engine mounts, the first job

On the B and K engines the original mounts let the powertrain move visibly under acceleration and on every gearchange. Replacing them with polyurethane is one of the few changes you feel immediately at the wheel without touching the power: the torque reaches the wheels more directly, and the shifts become cleaner.
