Dedicated or universal
A good part of them are dedicated mounts, made to the dimensions of one car: they bolt into the factory holes, with no drilling. The universal versions are cheaper, but they need measuring and sometimes welding, and the result depends on who fits them.
Left or right side
Many references are for one side only, left or right, and others come as a set for both. Check in the name what you are buying, so you are not left with a seat half mounted.
Homologation
Some of the mounts are FIA homologated. If the seat is homologated but the mount is not, the assembly does not pass scrutineering: the homologation is required on the whole chain, from the floor to the harness. Check what the regulations of your competition ask for before you order.
Sliding runners
A runner lets you adjust for length, but it raises the seat by a few centimetres. In a low car, with a helmet on, every centimetre counts.
