The Skunk2 Alpha kit for Honda K20, K24, F20C and F22C engines pairs dual valve springs with titanium retainers. The springs keep the valves from floating above 10,000 rpm, and the retainers cut valvetrain mass.

What to check
- Dual springs wound from Japanese chrome-silicon wire: the inner and outer springs are mated with a slight interference fit and have different frequencies, so they do not resonate together.
- Alpha retainers are made from ultrasonically inspected medical-grade titanium, CNC machined, with radius-cut edges for rocker clearance, lightening grooves and a reduced height; each one is inspected and serialized.
- On single-spring K-series heads and on F20C / F22C engines they fit only with the Skunk2 312-05-0010 spring bases.
- On 2004 and newer engines, Skunk2 titanium retainers need pre-2004 keepers (no laser-etched marks on the top edge): the angle differs, and the wrong combination can damage the engine.
