What to check

  • Dual springs wound from Japanese chrome-silicon wire: the inner and outer springs are mated with a slight interference fit and have different frequencies, so they do not resonate together.
  • On single-spring K-series heads and on F20C / F22C engines they fit only with the Skunk2 312-05-0010 spring bases.
  • On 2004 and newer engines, Skunk2 titanium retainers need pre-2004 keepers (no laser-etched marks on the top edge): the angle differs, and the wrong combination can damage the engine.
