What to check
- One-piece forged valves, HNV-3 martensitic steel on the intake and EV8 austenitic steel on the exhaust, heat treated and hard chrome plated, with a head profile shaped for airflow; 3-10 g lighter than stock.
- Skunk2 recommends the 344-05-1410 Alpha kit, the 311-05-1380 Alpha or 311-05-7380 Pro XP springs and the 308-05-0410 Pro titanium retainers.
- On single-spring K-series heads, dual springs need the 312-05-0010 spring bases, and fitting the bases needs new 312-05-0100 valve seals.
