What to check
- The camshafts keep full Valvetronic and double VANOS function, so idle and drivability stay smooth.
- They are machined from forged solid 8660 alloy steel blanks, rifle drilled, induction hardened and CNC ground, with a thicker barrel wall than stock; the OEM camshafts can bend when the engine is pushed.
- They work with the stock springs, but Skunk2 recommends the 313-14-1000 spring and titanium retainer kit, as long-term durability on stock springs is unknown.
