The conical reducer changes diameter over 100 or 200 mm, with no step to break up the flow. The symmetrical version keeps the pipe axis in the centre, the asymmetrical one keeps it on one side, where a full cone no longer fits.

Where it goes
- Between a catalyst or a muffler and the pipe, when the diameters do not match.
