What to check

  • The retainers are made from ultrasonically inspected medical-grade titanium, CNC machined, with radius-cut edges for rocker clearance, lightening grooves and a reduced height; each one is inspected and serialized.
  • On 2004 and newer engines, Skunk2 titanium retainers need pre-2004 keepers (no laser-etched marks on the top edge): the angle differs, and the wrong combination can damage the engine.
  • Skunk2 recommends the 311-05-1380 Alpha or 311-05-7380 Pro XP valve springs.
