The elbow turns the line through 90 degrees without choking the flow, and the reinforced wall holds its shape under intake suction, so the hose does not collapse in the bend. Inside diameter is 76 mm, or 3 in.

Where it fits
- On the air path between filter, turbo, intercooler and throttle body.
- On the cooling circuit, between radiator, pump and block.
- On crankcase ventilation and breather lines.
- Not for petrol, diesel or pressurised oil. Silicone handles fuel vapour and traces of oil, not liquid fuel: fuel lines need hose with a fluorinated inner layer.
Fitting
- The pipe the hose goes on must be clean and free of burrs. A rolled bead on the pipe end keeps the joint in place as boost rises.
- On boosted engines use wide clamps or T-bolt clamps. A worm drive clamp cuts into silicone and lets the hose slide off the pipe.
- Do not stretch the hose to cover a longer gap than it has: pick the right length, otherwise the joint stays under constant tension.
