The Sparco J-Pro Gulf is the J-Pro open face (jet) helmet in Gulf livery, with an ABS shell and ECE 22.06 approval. It is made for track days in closed cockpit cars, where the rules do not ask for an FIA or Snell helmet.

Who it suits
- Track days in closed cockpit cars, where the organiser asks for an approved helmet but not an FIA or Snell one
- The lining is not flame retardant: the helmet protects against impact, not fire
- It is not accepted where the rules require an FIA 8859 or 8860 helmet: for competition see FIA approved helmets
- It has no HANS posts, so it cannot be used with a head restraint

What ECE 22.06 means
- It is the European regulation for protective helmets used on the road, and it replaced ECE 22.05
- Impact absorption and shell deformation are measured across several impact types and speeds, and the shell is also tested for abrasion
- Visors and accessories have to withstand impact without deforming, breaking or coming off the helmet
