Buying guide and details
When you lower a car, the geometry is no longer the one it was designed with: the wheels go into negative camber and the toe wanders. Adjustable arms give you the control back, so you can bring the angles into tolerance or set them deliberately for track.
Which angle you set
Camber arms correct how the wheel leans, toe arms line the wheels up with each other, and caster arms change the steering axis angle. On many lowered cars, rear camber is the first problem and it shows up directly as wear on the inside of the tyre.
With a bush or with a rose joint
Arms with a polyurethane bush keep some of the vibration filtering and suit a car driven every day. Those with a rose joint take out all play and give maximum precision, but they pass everything into the body and need checking regularly: the joint wears and starts to make noise.
After fitting
The alignment is mandatory, with the car at its final ride height and with weight in the driver's seat. An adjustable arm fitted and not set changes nothing against the original one, except that from now on you have somewhere to adjust from.
