Buying guide and details
The Leon Cupra sits on MQB, alongside the Golf, the Octavia and the ordinary Leon. The difference that matters when you order is the rear axle: on MQB, under 110 kW with front wheel drive it is a torsion beam, and from 110 kW upwards or with all wheel drive it is multilink. The parts do not swap between them.
What is shared with the rest of the group
A great deal. When you cannot find a position under Cupra, look under Seat, Volkswagen or Skoda from the same year. Most of the time it is the same part.
Formentor and Ateca
They are on MQB too, but taller and heavier. Springs are chosen for the exact model: a Leon set has no business on them, even though the platform is the same.
What gets done first
Braking, if the car goes on track. The standard pad goes past its working temperature in a few laps and gives you a soft pedal. A compound with a wider range fixes more than a bigger disc.
