Brake fluids
The figure on the label is the boiling point of fresh fluid. RBF 600 gives 312 degrees C, RBF 660 reaches 325, RBF 700 336. They all draw water out of the air, so the figure drops over time on its own. On a car that competes, it is changed before the event, not at a kilometre interval. DOT 5.1 is the road version, with low viscosity, made to move quickly through an ABS block.
Engine oil
300V is the competition range, ester based: Competition in 5W-40 and 15W-50, Le Mans in 10W-60 for endurance and historic cars. 8100 X-Power 10W-60 is the fast road version, with ACEA A3/B4. Classic Eighties has plenty of ZDDP, for engines with flat tappets, where modern low zinc oils eat the cam lobes.
Gear and differential oil
Gear 300 75W90 for manual gearboxes and axles. The LS version has the additives for plate type limited slip differentials, and it is not the same product as plain Gear 300. Gear Competition 75W140, formerly Gear FF, is for race axles taken to high loads.
