Buying guide and details
Rod bearings sit between the connecting rod and the crankpin, on an oil film. The set is chosen by engine code and by crankpin size: STD for a factory crankshaft, 0.25 or 0.50 after regrinding.
How to read the size
- STD: journals at the factory size.
- STD HX: journals at the factory size, with 0.025 mm more oil clearance than the STD set. It is not an upgrade: the clearance is set by the journal and the bore.
- 0.025, 0.25, 0.50: journals ground that much under the factory size.
Before you order
- Choose the size from the journal measurement made by the shop that machined the crankshaft.
- ACL sets are sold sealed by the manufacturer: check the part number and the size before you open the set.
- The main bearings for the same engine are in main bearings.
