Accusump 1 qt (0.95 l) Oil Pressure Accumulator with Electric Valve
The Accusump is a pressurised oil reservoir connected to the lubrication circuit. When pressure drops in corners, under braking or at start-up, its piston pushes oil back into the engine. The electric valve opens with the ignition and pre-oils the engine before starting. It empties fast and refills slowly, so Canton recommends it for street use and pre-oiling; for pressure drops in racing there are the EPC valves.

Not included
- mounting clamps: they are required, the 1 qt clamps
- hose, fittings, tee or sandwich plate
Fitting
- The Accusump works in any orientation. If possible, keep the oil valve end slightly higher than the air end so bubbles purge.
- Clamps go at the ends of the tube, never in the middle: a pinched tube makes the piston hang.
- It connects on the pressure side, after the filter and cooler, close to the engine: with a tee on an external line, a sandwich plate under the filter or straight into an oil gallery.
- Use Teflon tape on the NPT threads, not paste.
- Keep it away from exhaust heat and stones thrown by the tyres.
- On a total oil system failure it gives 15-60 seconds of oil, depending on engine and speed.
- Do not use the electric valve during break-in of a freshly built engine: assembly lube clogs it.
