- According to HANS, the gel helps most where a healed collarbone fracture has left a ridge

The approval in the rules
- Appendix L, Art. 3.1: padding between the driver and the device yoke is at most 15 mm thick with the driver seated and the harness tightened, is covered in ISO 15025 flameproof material and is no more than 8 mm wider than the yoke on each side
