K&N Recharger Air Filter Cleaning and Oiling Kit

The K&N Recharger kit (99-5000EU) cleans and re-oils K&N oiled cotton air filters. The box holds K&N Power Kleen air filter cleaner in a 355 ml pump bottle and K&N air filter oil in a 204 ml aerosol can.

It is used on oiled cotton filters only, not on dry-media filters, which are not oiled.

Instructions

1. Remove the filter from its housing and lightly tap off loose dirt and debris.
2. Spray Power Kleen liberally onto both sides of the filter. Let it sit for 10 minutes, without letting it dry on the filter.
3. Rinse the filter with cool, low-pressure water, from the clean side to the dirty side.
4. Gently shake off the excess water and let the filter dry naturally. Oil is applied only once the filter is completely dry.
5. Spray the oil along the crown of each pleat, without saturating the filter.
6. Let the oil wick for about 20 minutes, then touch up any lighter areas until the filter has a uniform red color.
7. Before refitting, check the sealing edge and contact surfaces so the filter seats properly in the housing or on the intake pipe. Wipe off excess oil so it does not reach the intake tract.

Precautions

• Use K&N Power Kleen for cleaning and K&N oil for oiling. Gasoline, solvents and strong detergents can degrade the cotton gauze filter media, as can washing it with a high-pressure water jet.
