Ball Seat Wheel Bolt M14x1.5
Wheel Bolt M14x1.50, ball seat, Class 10.9, several thread lengths
This wheel bolt is made of class 10.9 steel and has a ball seat. It suits wheels that need a longer thread and installations with spacers of medium thickness.
Features and Performance:
- Strength: Class 10.9 means high tensile and shear strength.
- Corrosion protection: The zinc finish protects the bolt against rust and the elements.
- Precise fitting: The ball seat head centres the wheel on the hub and spreads the clamping force evenly.
- Thread length: The thread comes in several lengths, for aftermarket wheels or spacers.

Original VW, Audi and Mercedes wheels are usually made for a ball seat, so this is the right bolt for them. For aftermarket wheels with a conical seat, choose Conical Wheel Bolt M14x1.5.
If your car has a different thread:
- Older models: Polo up to 2001, Golf IV Cabriolet, C-Class W203 and A-Class W168 use M12x1.5. See Conical Wheel Bolt M12x1.5.
- GLE V167 and GLS X167, from 2019: they use M15x1.25. For AMG and Coupe, check by VIN. See Mercedes GLE Wheel Bolt M15x1.25.
- BMW: the F and G series use M14x1.25. See BMW Wheel Bolt M14x1.25. The X3 E83, X5 E53 and 7 Series E65 to E68 use M14x1.5, like this bolt.
Length with spacers
The length of the original bolt differs from one car to another and, on Mercedes, from one wheel to another. Measure the thread of your bolt, from under the head to the tip, and add the thickness of the spacer. The table below is an example for an original bolt of 28 mm.
| Spacer | Minimum thread | Option in range |
|---|---|---|
| 5 mm | 33 mm | 35 mm (silver) |
| 10 mm | 38 mm | 40 mm |
| 15 mm | 43 mm | 45 mm |
| 20 mm | 48 mm | 50 mm (silver) |
| 25 mm | 53 mm | above range, maximum 50 mm |
The option in range is the closest length that covers the calculation. Do not choose a bolt much longer than needed: it can touch the disc or the hub. Check the space behind the wheel before the final tightening. The bolt must engage at least 7.5 threads in the hub for M14x1.5, according to Eibach.
Technical tip: Always check that the thread length suits your hub, spacer and wheel. The bolt must engage the minimum number of threads needed for a secure fixing.
