- With the original wheels and tyres, wheel spacers may be needed.
- At maximum lowering, and on cars with driveshafts of 50 mm outer diameter or more, the anti-roll bar is converted with the DTS kit (291 900 020 without xenon headlights, 291 900 030 with xenon headlights), for driveshaft clearance.
Fitting notes, per the DTS installation instructions
- Installation by trained personnel only, with the proper tools.
- On cars with electronically controlled dampers, the system is deactivated by an authorised workshop.
- The spring seat locking screw is tightened to 1-2 Nm, no more.
- After installation, with the car on its wheels on level ground, the height is measured and corrected within the lowering range. When setting it, allow for the car settling by a further 5-10 mm in use.
- At least 5 mm must remain between tyre and suspension over the full wheel travel.
- Wheel alignment is set to the car maker's values; when a large height change makes a value unreachable, it is set as close as possible to the maker's tolerance range.
- Height-dependent components, such as headlight range control and the brake force regulator, are adjusted to the car maker's instructions.
- On cars with ESP, DSC or EPC a fault entry and a warning lamp may appear; on some models it goes out after about 5 km of driving, and on current models the basic setting of the ESP and of the steering angle may have to be done with the car maker's diagnostic tester.
