KW V2 Coilover Kit - Volkswagen Golf 1 - 15280041-B
KW Automotive coilover kits are the German maker's premium range, in several levels of adjustment: from height only (KW V1), through fully adjustable compression and rebound damping (KW V3, V5, Clubsport), to electronic damping control (KW DDC). The kit replaces the standard dampers and springs completely with one adjustable assembly, tested for each car application separately.
The KW range covers every level of adjustment: KW V1 (height only), KW V2 (height plus rebound damping), KW V3 (height plus rebound and compression), KW V4 and V5 (multi-step damping, set separately front and rear), KW DDC (electronic damping control, as Plug & Play or a dedicated ECU module), KW Clubsport (the performance line, with or without a spherical front top mount), KW V2 Comfort (everyday comfort with height adjustment) and KW V3 Leveling (levelling the body, useful on cars run loaded or towing).

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the KW V1 to V5 lines?
The number is the level of adjustment: V1 is height only, V2 adds rebound damping, V3 adds compression as well, and V4/V5 give separate multi-step control front and rear.
What is KW DDC?
DDC, Dynamic Damping Control, is KW's electronic damping system. It comes either as Plug & Play, wired into the car's own electronics, or as a dedicated ECU module with a 3-step selector.
What does Clubsport 'with top mount' mean against 'without'?
A spherical front top mount sharpens the steering when the car is driven hard or on track; the version without keeps the factory top mount, which makes fitting simpler.
What is KW V3 Leveling?
A version aimed at levelling the body rather than lowering it, for cars run loaded or towing, where the rear tends to sag.
Can the height be adjusted after fitting?
Yes. On every KW line the height adjusts on the thread, with no extra parts.
Does the geometry need setting after fitting?
Yes. Lowering and adjusting change the steering angles, so have the geometry checked at a specialist workshop.
Do KW kits include new springs?
Yes. Every KW coilover kit is a complete damper and spring assembly, calibrated together. Replacing the springs on their own is not recommended.
Do they work with factory air suspension?
No. KW kits replace the standard suspension completely and do not work with air self-levelling systems.
How far can the car be lowered?
The range varies by model and series. Each product page lists the approved range for front and rear, in millimetres.
What warranty do KW products carry?
Check the warranty terms shown on the product: they vary by application and series.
