The M61 tether set turns a standard Simpson Hybrid into the quick release version: the helmet comes free when you pull the tether. It fits the Hybrid Sport, Hybrid S and Hybrid Pro Lite.

The approval in the rules
- Art. 3.2: the FHR is worn only with FIA 8858 approved tethers and helmet anchors, and with an FIA 8859 or 8860 helmet
- Fitting follows the Simpson installation guide for Hybrid Pro and Hybrid devices, as required by Appendix L, Art. 3.2
- In FIA Technical List no. 29, the homologation end date is the last date on which the model may be manufactured; the approval number is read from the label on the device
