K&N Universal Air Filter, Round Tapered, 89 mm Flange, 140 mm Base Diameter, 203 mm Height
The K&N RU-1045 is a universal tapered air filter with an 89 mm flange inside diameter, a 140 mm outside diameter at the base, 102 mm at the top and a height of 203 mm. Its cotton gauze media comes in several layers and is washable and reusable. The top is rubber and the pliable rubber flange sits in the center of the filter.
K&N says its universal air filters are designed for racing vehicles, radio-controlled cars, generators, snowmobiles, tractors and other applications.

Choosing the size
- The 89 mm figure is the inside diameter of the pliable rubber flange, which can stretch by up to 1.5 mm for in-between sizes.
- It is a universal filter with no vehicle list (K&N shows no cross references for this part), so it is chosen by the diameter of the intake tube it is fitted on.
- The 140 mm outside diameter is measured at the base of the filter; at the top the filter is 102 mm.
- The K&N package lists one air filter only. A clamp is not mentioned in the package, so it is ordered separately.
Care
- The filter is washable and reusable, and K&N supplies it pre-oiled and ready for use.
- For re-oiling, K&N specifies 47 ml of air filter oil.
