BC Racing BR Coilover Kit - Volkswagen Golf MK8 (20+) FWD, 49.5 mm strut (H-49-BR-RA)
The BC Racing BR coilover kit, codes H-49-BR-RA / H-49-BR-RS, fits the Volkswagen Golf MK8 (20+) FWD.
The BR Series is the starting point for coilovers at BC Racing: you set ride height and damping, and the car stays easy to drive on the road between track days.
BC tests each car on its own and refines the kit until it is balanced.
Kit types for this car
RA
Front: aluminium top mounts with pillowball centres, camber adjustable where the car allows it. Rear: aluminium top mounts with rubber centres, or no top mounts.
RS
Front: aluminium top mounts with rubber centres, not camber adjustable. Rear: aluminium top mounts with rubber centres, or no top mounts.
Construction and adjustment
- Monotube damper with a linear piston and damping curve.
- BC Racing uses a 46 mm piston in a 53 mm damper body to increase the oil volume and lower the peak oil temperature.
- Ride height adjustment independent of spring preload.
- 30 clicks of adjustment, with compression and rebound adjusted together.
- Custom spring rates or Swift springs on request, with valving matched to the springs you choose.
- Fully rebuildable.
Good to know
- On a small number of applications the solid pillowball top mounts at the front can transmit noise into the cabin, as light knocking. It is not a product fault: it happens when a solid top mount combines with the shell of certain cars.
