Before you order

  • The 9V battery for the control box is not on the kit list.
  • The installation manual is in French and English.
  • Servicing is mandatory every 2 years, by RRS or an approved RRS agent. After each use, the recharge is done there as well.
  • The kit parts must not be modified or replaced with other parts, or the homologation is lost. Only RRS parts are used for replacements.
  • Validity is given by the homologation label on the bottle, not by the FIA list. List 16 only shows the last date on which the system can be manufactured.
  • The label and the manual present it for saloon cars. Before ordering, check in the competition regulations that FIA list 16 is accepted and that your car falls in this category.
  • The other extinguishing systems and extinguishers are in the FIA homologated extinguishers collection.
Installation notes
  • The bottle is fitted, for example, behind the co-driver's seat, across the car, with the outlet valve pointing to the engine compartment. The label and the gauge must stay easy to read.
  • The two brackets are fixed to the floor, and the fixing clamps go around the bottle.
  • The control box goes in a visible position, within reach of the driver and the co-driver.
  • The electrical wiring must be completely independent from the car's harness. The cockpit button goes on the dashboard, reachable by both, and the exterior one at the base of the windscreen pillar.
  • The battery is connected inside the control box.
  • The nozzles are aimed at the places where a fire can start and are fixed on the 6 steel brackets in the kit. The tubes must not support the nozzles or the fittings.
  • The tubes are cut at 90 degrees with a tube cutter and deburred. Before the fitting, the sheath is stripped back by 2 cm.
  • The fittings are quick connect. To disconnect, hold the plastic ring and pull the tube.
Check before the race
  • Before each use in competition, the battery test is done: the switch on the box goes to TEST POSITION, the cockpit and exterior buttons are pressed, and the yellow "battery OK" light must come on at each press.
  • If it does not light, the 9V battery is checked.
  • After the test, the switch goes to "system armed" and the system is ready to use.
  • Periodically, the nozzles, fittings, tubes and bottle are inspected visually, and the gauge needle must be in the green zone.
