On the Renault Megane 1-2 a 15 mm spacer moves each wheel 15 mm outwards: the track width of the axle grows by 30 mm and the effective wheel offset (ET) drops by 15 mm. The standard bolt is then too short. The kit comes with the 40 mm bolts, so you do not have to work out the length yourself.

Fitment

  • Renault Megane 1 (BA), Megane 2 (BM/CM).
  • The kit covers one axle. For the whole car you need two kits.
What to check when fitting
  • With the 15 mm spacer fitted, a 40 mm bolt engages 25 mm of thread in the hub, against 27 mm for the original bolt. If the car already has longer bolts or the wheel has a deeper seat, measure first.
  • The bolt has to engage at least as much thread in the hub as its own diameter.
  • The conical seat has to match the wheel, not the car. An aftermarket wheel may need a different seat.
  • Re-torque the wheel bolts after the first few kilometres.
